Hang Duong Cemetary

Hàng Dương Cemetery is a memorial cemetery in Vietnam with the remains of independence fighters and prisoners who died at the Con Dao Prison.

The cemetery is situated near the prison on Côn Sơn Island (also known as Côn Lôn) the largest island of the sixteen islands of the Con Dao archipelago. Many Vietnamese, war veterans, and former prisoners travel to the island to pay homage to the fallen at temple shrines and tombs. Many of the graves are unmarked but marked and numbered notable graves include those of Lê Hồng PhongNguyễn An Ninh and Võ Thị Sáu.

Area A: It has about 668 tombs (including 7 mass graves): 91 tomb of the Known Soldier and 597 Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Most of tombs were before 1945. This place has heroic martyr Lê Hồng Phong, patriot Nguyễn An Ninh

Area B: It has about 695 tombs (including 14 mass graves): 276 tomb of the Known Soldier and 419 tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Most of tombs form 1945 to 1960. This place has heroic martyr Võ Thị Sáu and heroic martyr Cao Văn Ngọc

Area C: It has about 373 tombs (including 1 mass grave): 332 tomb of the Known Soldier and 41 Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Most of tombs form 1960 to 1975. This place has heroic martyr Lê Văn Việt

Area D: It has about 157 tombs (including 1 mass grave): 14 tombs of the Known Soldier and 143 Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Special, All tombs from Cau Island and Hàng Keo Cemetery
